As the chief operating officer (COO) of
Capital
Resolution
at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), Stefan Masuhr’s role in the business is imperative.
He has to oversee diverse business operations and so is expected to be an
efficient leader and excellent communicator. To his credit, Stefan has more
than two decades of experience in capital markets that have proved useful to
his board-level executive position.
Stefan has always possessed a
competitive streak that has spurred him to take on challenging targets. He was a member of the German national
athletics team and a shot-put junior champion during his formative years. In
2005, Stefan completed his first Ironman distance triathlon event. His strenuous
sporting experiences have helped to prepare him for the demands that occur
within the international finance industry.
Stefan has also put in a sufficient amount
of work in order to develop a unique personal brand. He values loyalty amongst
his teams and believes that people are trustworthy
until they prove otherwise. When he (or others) receive recognition for a job
well done, Stefan feels motivated: helping someone to
get started in their career and watching them grow and learn from their journey,
is something Stefan takes to heart.
Like many successful business
executives, Stefan is counted on to make the right call, even when doing so
involves having tough conversations or making difficult decisions. He has learnt
that by keeping the end goal in mind, he will find a way to navigate obstacles
in life and business. Throughout his career, Stefan has relied on his ability
to break down a complex problem into tiny pieces. In doing so, he can create a
sequence of steps to go about solving the problem; a plan that gets everyone
involved. Constant evaluation of progress enables him to know when he strays
off track.
A hardworking executive, Stefan Masuhr
looks forward to recreational activities that help him to relax outside of work.
He enjoys cooking quality meals for his family
and finds it rewarding to spend as much time with them as possible. Playing
golf ranks high on his activities list, as does traveling the world.
